No Shame, Just Self-Care: Close The Gap at Your Campus

1

Hey chomi

Have you heard about the Close The Gap Campaign? Let me put you on. It’s a campaign promoting health and wellness amongst young people, including students, to ensure they have the knowledge, tools and access to healthcare they need to live their best lives. Basically, the health and wellness services come to you, meeting you where you are. This vibe, we love! Cos it’s giving caring about you, it’s giving less hassles, it’s giving ease.

Close The Gap is for you if:

  • You’re sexually active
  • You don’t know your HIV status
  • Know your HIV status and need to get on treatment
  • You know your HIV status and haven’t tested in more than 3 months
  • Haven’t tested for other STI’s in 3 months

No judgment, just empowerment.

  1. Your body, your rules, no doubt! When you know the facts about your sexual and reproductive health, your rules benefit your body so much more.
  2. Know Your Status, Own Your Power. Regular check-ups and testing aren't just for your health—they're for your future. By getting tested for HIV and STIs, you're taking charge, staying informed, and empowering yourself to make smart choices.
  3. Everything is confidential. That means it’s nobody’s business but your own. The nurse cannot go tell anyone anything about you.
  4. Prevention is the ultimate power move. If you are HIV-negative, we want to help you stay that way by providing the tools and knowledge you need. If you are HIV-positive, getting on treatment (ART) is the most powerful move you can make. It's important you get on the treatment, asap to optimise your health. When you take your treatment and become virally suppressed, you can live a full, healthy life and can no longer transmit the virus.
  5. Disclosure as an act of love, not shame. You do have a responsibility to tell whoever you’re loving on to get tested and take the necessary precautions if you tested positive for HIV or any STI. That’s deeply loving.

Your health wellness is a lifestyle. It’s about feeling good, living strong, and owning your journey.

Zero in on your wellness. Close The Gap
